Unless you live in the Tarrytown/river towns area, Horsefeathers may not be on your restaurant radar. Creaky, dark and almost 30 years old, it strikes me as a distinctly local establishment.
I just like it there: the outdoor seating in the summer, the surprisingly extensive local and imported beer list, and the reliable (if a hair pricey ) pub grub. The place is like an old pair of jeans: maybe not the best looking jeans in your wardrobe, and when you’re really out to impress you throw on a different pair, but darn it, the ol’ things are dependable and oh so comfortable.
Mostly, I dig the burgers. Horsefeathers make a mean burger, one that holds it own against almost any other in Westchester.
Met up there with my friend Michael for brews, zucchini sticks, and burgers — had to have the burger. In fact, I worked myself into a frenzy on the drive over just thinking about sinking my teeth into one; it’s been a while.

8 oz of beefy, juicy meat seared to a perfect medium-well, piled high with chunky grilled mushrooms and onions, served with sweet potato fries and a crisp pickle spear. With multiple napkins and a few frosty ones, what could be better?
If you’re a burger fiend, I recommend a visit.

You’re right. Love that place but always forget about it!
