Bubble Tea Arrives in Harrison

Szechuan Garden in Harrison is your basic, non-descript Chinese take-out place serving all the usual stuff you’d expect. I get a menu in the mail from them every year that I keep in my pile of take-out menus in case of emergency (namely, floods knocking out all power to Rye).

A new menu arrived the other day — didn’t think much of it until I glanced at it and saw at the top:

“Bubble Tea”

Bubble tea!!  Now I was interested, leafing through it until I saw Szechuan Garden’s new additions: bubble teas, flavored green teas, smoothies, milk shakes, fruit yogurts and iced coffees, of all types and flavors.

Wow!  It’s like Temptation Tea House just came to Harrison. Bubble tea fanatics will agree — this is a big development (and I know my sister is jealous).  No more schlepping to Mt. Kisco, White Plains or Hartsdale.  Plus, by Westchester standards, Szechuan Garden is open relatively late; I know where I’ll be on those stifling hot summer nights…

I quickly drove over and picked up a papaya bubble tea.

See what it says on the bottom of the cup?  ”Happy time.”

You got that right.

Ohhhhhh you are right that I am jealous….! If they have passion fruit bubble tea, try that one – it’s my favorite flavor. (now if they only served mochi on the side then it would be perfect, right? ;-)
