A Letter to All’ Antica

Dear All’ Antica,

Thank you for a fabulous time at your pizzeria.  You see, I’ve been kind of down on Westchester pizza since I started writing this blog, but you’ve just restored my faith.  I haven’t tried Johnny’s in Mt. Vernon yet, and I’ve heard Tarry Lodge’s pies are out of this world, but you did it — you made a crispy, thin-crusted pizza that had me muttering to myself, Now THIS is what I’m talking about!

Look at your gorgeous Portabello, a robust slice of red onion, smoked mozzarella, meaty portabellos and the coup de grâce — thick, sticky balsamic drizzled over the top.

Or consider your deceptively simple Contadina, layered with wafer-thin sliced potatoes, a sprinkling of rosemary and other herbs, and just the right amount of salty prosciutto, curled up and crispy on the edges.  I finished both slices… and I was sad.

Sorry to come on so strong, but I needed to tell you how I feel.  Is it too soon in the relationship to say I love you?

Sincerely,
A New Fan

Wow! That pizza looks amazing. I am definitely going to make a trip to Scarsdale to try that. And my fingers are crossed that All’Antica opens an outpost in Mamaroneck. Their “fancy” pizza would be a delicious counterpoint to Sal’s solid, “NY-style” pies. I would definitely patronize both.

On the one hand, I am glad you finally went there. On the other, the more people you tell, the less chance the rest of us have of snagging one of the *3* available tables!

Your pictures are awesome, Dude, I can almost smell the deliciousness!
