Greetings from sunny San Jose, CA, where the days are warm, the nights are cool, and the Vietnamese noodle shops are so fantastic that my colleague and I have eaten at the same one two days in a row. Long live sriracha.
So while I’m out of town, I’m turning the blog over to you. Here’s my question: What’s the best thing you’ve eaten so far this summer?

Not exactly “eaten,” but “tasted”:
One of my favorite wines — a Cakebread Sauvigngon Blanc — at the best seafood restaurant in Northern Westchester, Ocean House, on my wife’s birthday. Ocean House is still BYOB, which means for a mere corkage fee, you can drink an everyday wine for an everyday occasion, or really celebrate.
The smooth yet tart flavor, the condensation on the bottle on a July evening … Life is good.
