I’m a little late to the party on this one, but I just read about a popular blog called Waiter Rant, written by a waiter who dishes the dirt on restaurant staff and unsavory customers. Now he’s turned his writings into a new book. I’ve only had a chance to read a bit of the blog so far, and already I’m on the waiter’s side. I respect waiters because I know I would fail miserably at the job. I hate, hate, hate bad manners and rudeness, so inevitably I’d throttle some high maintenance ass of a customer, they’d throw me out, the cops would show up, and you’d see me on the local news trying to cover my face with a hooded sweatshirt. I don’t think I should be a waiter.
The second tidbit of info comes from my colleague Laura, who alerted me to the Modern Toilet Restaurant in Taipei, where the “theme” of the restaurant is the, er, bathroom.
According to news sources:
“Eating here was a very unique dining experience to say the least. You are seated at a bathtub (your table) surrounded by toilets (your seats). Your food comes in your own sizzling toilet bowl.”
I don’t even have a joke here. Well, that’s not true, I have tons, but it’s too easy. When’s the Modern Toilet Restaurant coming to Westchester?
