Happy Hour at Seaside Johnnies

At some restaurants, the food’s not as important as the good feeling you have while you’re there.  I’m not sure if that makes any sense.  I’ll explain.  When I’m at Seaside Johnnies in Rye, I feel relaxed and chilled out.  The view, the breeze off the water, the sense of being far away from the hustle and bustle… it all makes the experience for me.  Maybe the food’s mediocre, but that’s okay.  It’s the ambiance that matters.

A group of us hit Seaside Johnnies after work today for some drinks and grub.  What a perfect day to sit outside.  This is Jen’s 30 oz. of pink something with a little green mermaid thrown in for good measure.

We shared a bunch of appetizers.  What are apps without the “buffalos”,  buffalo wings and buffalo shrimp.

Fried calamari’s another staple.

Could have used a few more mozzarella sticks.

These fried ravioli looked good, but they were snatched up before I had a chance to try one.

But like I said, Seaside Johnnies is not really about the food.  It’s about hanging out with friends.

And enjoying the view.

And then afterwards, you can head over to Rye Playland for a round of mini golf.  Tiger Woods, we’re coming for you.
