Haha, this is what happened to me aswell…
The ice cream melted *sigh*
And to make it all cute and round was imposible xD

THAT IS EXACTLY HOW MY MOCHI TURNED OUT! Except I used strawberry and vanilla ice cream, yum. I didn’t toss it out though, I just put everything in a bowl and ate it, It still tasted like mochi, but it didn’t look like one ):

Oh well, at least I know how to make mochi HALF-WAY right? HAHAHA!

It was ridiculous. Not only was the dough impossible to handle, but I made the big mistake of scooping out all 10 scoops of ice cream at once, instead of it doing it one at a time. Melted ice cream everywhere! I’m calling Morimoto for help.

Ok, I can see I will now need to FedEx you mochi from Porter Exchange. That looked like quite the debacle. There must be some place you can get a mochi-making apprenticeship in NY, right? Iron Chef Morimoto? Nobu??
