Snobbery at Red Hat?

Yesterday I tried to make a June reservation for a group of 15 at Red Hat on the River in Irvington.  And I got completely shot down.   The woman on the phone told me Thursdays are a busy time for the restaurant and 15 people at 7:30 pm would “bring the kitchen to a halt.”   Really?  15 people are going to overwhelm a restaurant kitchen?   What if five groups of 3 happened to show up— would they be asked to stagger their orders?   I wasn’t buying it and got annoyed by the woman’s unhelpful attitude. “How about a Tuesday?” I asked.  Nope.  She said my only options were a reservation for 5 pm, 9:30 pm, or a Monday.  No thanks.  I told her I would keep looking and hung up.

What do you think about Red Hat’s policy?  Have you had good experiences there?

Maybe you’re just not good enough for Irvington. Its stock went up when I moved to town :)

Can you go eat at a restaurant poor people like me can afford? Besides Burger King…that burger looked nasty!

went to Red Hat with another meet up a few months ago. We totally agree on the attitude. The manager think he is the bomb. Too bad, it would be a such a nice place in the warmer months.
