Rebirth of the Rye Grill & Bar

I’m keeping close tabs on the progress of the new Rye Grill & Bar, which is due to open sometime this year (the old one was razed last summer).  I miss the place!  Not just because I live across the street, but because it was always a reliable spot to grab a beer or watch a game.  I’ve heard the new and improved restaurant will have a lounge with fireplaces on the second floor.   Nice.  Bring on those cold winter nights.   Construction seems to have picked up to a feverish pace, so let’s hope it opens soon.  Here’s a pic of the progress:

Another interesting development in Rye is the arrival of a Chinese restaurant called China Garden.  It’s under construction, right across the street from Hand Rolled Bagels on Purdy St.  I walked by the other day and it definitely looks like a takeout joint, which is fine with me.  We’ve got plenty of good restaurants in town- sometimes you just need some quick and easy food to go.

Sorry ….after opening to the fanfare of some hype, this place is absolutly the worst restaurant I have eaten in around rye. What are they thinking????
Drop the attitudes of the servers, lower the prices and be aware of what the customers want.It is really that simple.
